Year of the Game (2026)

I've been playing videogames since I was four years old. In all my years, I firmly believe that I've only beaten six in total1. I blame my parents for refusing to seek a professional opinion on my attention deficit issues for fear of getting me "hooked on Ritalin." Well, mom, sometimes you need to get hooked on Ritalin to, y'know, function how a normal person might function2.
Anyways, a few weeks ago I asked friends both near and far for recommendations: what one videogame would they have me play this year, if they could pick anything? I've compiled the following list from their responses, and I will use this blog post to track my progress. This list will likely grow over time.
- Final Fantasy X, requested by my wife. Currently playing this one.
- Boku no Natsuyasumi 2's English translation, requested by me. I'm the ultimate poser.
- Suikoden and Suikoden 2, requested by Nate of Press the Beast.
- Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and Sly Cooper 2, owed to my friend Mondo for starting both on stream and then not streaming anymore lol.
- Tokimeki Memorial by way of its SNES English translation, one of many requests by Morgan.
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, also requested by Morgan.
- Persona 4 Golden, requested by my friend Jordie.
- TES III: Morrowind, requested by my great aunt.
- Hitman 3, requested by my friend Kris.
- Phantasy Star 3, requested by my friend Katt.
My hope is that by the end of the year, I've finished everything on the list and written a blog post about my experiences with each one. If you're reading this and going "what the heck!? I want to suggest a game!!1!" you can email me at blog [at] bonkposting [dot] online.

I've "beaten" Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Subspace Emissary story mode, the first two Little Big Planet games, Killzone 3, Dark Souls 3, Baldur's Gate 3, and Split Fiction. I keep remembering stuff after sending this post out lol.↩
I ended up getting hooked on Adderall at the age of 21. The psychiatrist who prescribed me the medication turned out to also be hooked on Adderall. I don't see that guy anymore. That guy sucks, and Strattera kicks ass.↩
